Returning To Gentle Yoga After Injury or Illness

Check this wonderful lady out. I’m very proud of her. Personally I love welcoming people to my class who have been unable to exercise for a period of time, due to illness, an injury or perhaps a body image perception.

With both my Yoga training and  Shiatsu therapy I feel confident to welcome and support people into classes or one to one sessions where they can gently begin to explore their  range of motion again … always avoiding pain and slowly rebuilding both confidence and mobility within their own safe range of pain free movement. After several terms of Yoga Sheila has gone from strength to strength and is a trailblazer for others joining the class who might be apprehensive or anxious about starting or getting back to gentle exercise.

I’m Sheila, 57 years young. I have suffered with my back for over 20 years, work and stress related. I attend a chiropractor who mentioned yoga might help me. I was a bit sceptical but joined Rebecca’s beginners yoga class. After a short period of time I found that I am more flexible and toned. The meditation has helped me to relax and breath properly, with that in mind, I would recommend yoga to anyone, young or old.
